VTHC Return to Work Unit

The Victorian Trades Hall Council Return to Work Unit challenges the barriers that stop injured workers returning to full and meaningful employment.

A big part of the VTHC initiative is to provide training to workers and their representatives. The training includes practical tools, information and advice about injured workers’ rights to return to work:

  • The return to work process
  • The rights and responsibilities of all people involved in the RTW process.
  • How flexibility can bring back skills
  • How returning to work benefits workers, employers and the community
  • Barriers to returning to work

Injured workers need support because:
  • Many injured workers loose part of their income if they are unable to work?
  • If a worker is so badly injured that they cannot return to work for an extensive period of time they can lose more than 25% of their income?
  • Injured workers often suffer depression, isolation and relationship breakdown as a result of their work injury.
  • Many in the workplace are unaware of the rights of injured workers to return to work.
Find out more about the unit and the issues by going to the Return2Work website.

Learn about the provisions for injured workers’ rights to return to work (so you can better assist injured workers). BOOK NOW for FREE TRAINING at the VTHC RETURN TO WORK Unit (see Training Schedule, below).
