Workers' Rights

All workers have rights under both general legislation and occupational health and safety legislation. Here you can find out more about what those rights are.

In Victoria, the Victorian OHS Act and Regulations cover most workers' legislated health and safety rights

However some workers in Victoria, if they are employed by a federal government department or enterprise, or by a company which is self-insured under Comcare, come under the Comcare system and the Work Health Safety Act.

In June 2007 the ACTU declared a Charter of workplace rights for occupational health and safety and workers' compensation that sets out the minimum health and safety and compensation standards the union movement believes all workers should have - see the item below.
